Job summary

BDO in the United Kingdom is seeking a Manager to lead a team within the Business Services & Outsourcing arm. You will manage a portfolio of clients, negotiate fees, and oversee billing and cash collection while guiding junior staff.

You will collaborate with senior managers and Directors to deliver high-quality advice and actively pursue new business opportunities across departments, strengthening client relationships.

Qualifications

• ACCA or ACA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience using Caseware, although this is preferred rather than essential.
• Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102, including the preparation and review of consolidated accounts. Knowledge of IFRS would be advantageous.
• Experience managing a portfolio of client assignments and delivering work to a high standard.
• Previous people management experience, with the ability to lead, coach and develop team members.
• A track record of identifying business development opportunities and helping to generate new client leads.

Responsibilities

• Manage the team on a day-to-day basis and build external and internal client relationships.
• Oversee fee negotiations, control billings and cash collections within firm criteria.
• Determine resource requirements and monitor progress against budget/timeframes.
• Review work of junior team members and resolve issues before Director/Partner review.
• Develop relationships with existing clients and proactively seek new opportunities for business growth.
