Job Description

We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Birmingham, responsible for accounts preparation services for a wide range of clients. The primary duties include managing a portfolio of clients, liaising with other departments and clients, and supervising junior staff. You will participate in training and development initiatives to enhance quality and support the senior management team in both client work and team management.

Responsibilities
  • Review work by team members, including FRS 102, FRS 101, IFRS, and consolidated group accounts.
  • Provide efficient, proactive service to clients and exceed expectations by liaising with Clients, Partners, and staff to keep all parties informed.
  • Monitor billing, lock-up, staffing levels, and WIP provisioning, supporting administrative tasks and projects as needed.
  • Support and develop technical skills within the team to improve output quality.
  • Evaluate staff performance, conduct appraisals, and provide timely feedback.
  • Prepare proposals for new work and explore development opportunities with existing clients.
Qualifications

To succeed, you should:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA).
  • Have substantial experience with large entity statutory accounts in a professional services setting.
  • Possess experience working with entrepreneurial, OMB, and SME clients.
  • Be familiar with business development activities, proposal preparation, and accounting standards.
  • Have excellent communication skills, strong organization, and time management abilities.
  • Experience managing staff to optimize performance and understanding of various skill requirements.
