Job summary

Morson Talent is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Controller to join our finance team in a fast-paced environment. You will partner with senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement across financial reporting and controls.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, and deliver insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. The role involves liaising with auditors and contributing to finance transformation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in financial reporting and financial control.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, forecasting and balance sheet management.
• Experience in a complex or multi-entity organisation.
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Confident in challenging processes and driving improvements.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools would be advantageous.

What you'll be doing:

As Financial Reporting Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making. Working closely with the Finance Director and wider business, you'll be responsible for:

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Producing accurate balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining a strong financial control environment.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Delivering insightful financial analysis and commentary to support business performance.
• Liaising with internal and external auditors.
• Identifying financial risks and opportunities and providing recommendations.
• Supporting finance transformation initiatives and driving continuous process improvements.
• Building strong relationships with finance and operational stakeholders across the business.

What we're looking for:

We're seeking someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You'll ideally have:

• A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in financial reporting and financial control.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, forecasting and balance sheet management.
• Experience working within a complex or multi-entity organisation.
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• The confidence to challenge processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools would be advantageous.
