Job summary

Investigo Limited, a large and regulated organisation, is seeking a technically strong accountant to join the Financial Control function in Watford. You will contribute to external financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit coordination and financial governance under the Financial Reporting Manager.

You'll work with senior stakeholders across finance and the business, broadening exposure to IFRS, controls and process improvements in a complex, large-scale environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Control function of a large, complex and highly regulated organisation during a period of continued growth and transformation. Reporting into the Financial Reporting Manager, this role will play a key part in delivering external financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit coordination and financial governance activities. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business, helping ensure reporting remains accurate, compliant and delivered to demanding deadlines. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to broaden their exposure across financial reporting, controls, governance and process improvement within a large-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Statutory Accounts

• Support the preparation and delivery of annual statutory accounts and external financial reporting.
• Coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met and reporting remains accurate and consistent.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Ensure reporting outputs align with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain robust audit trails, documentation and version control throughout the reporting cycle.

Audit & Financial Governance

• Act as a key contact during the external audit process, coordinating requests, evidence and responses.
• Support the ongoing development of financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Assist with implementing reporting best practice and maintaining a strong controls environment.
• Help identify and mitigate reporting risks throughout the reporting process.

Technical Accounting & Financial Control

• Support technical accounting assessments and accounting policy application.
• Contribute to balance sheet governance and financial control activities.
• Assist with accounting papers, technical reviews and ad hoc reporting requirements.
• Work alongside wider finance teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues.

Process Improvement

• Drive efficiency's across reporting processes and workflows.
• Help improve reporting quality through better controls, automation and standardisation.
• Support finance projects aimed at enhancing reporting capability and operational effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes and improve stakeholder experience.

About You

• We're keen to speak with qualified accountants who have experience within financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit or financial control environments.
• You’ll ideally have: ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements.
• Background within practice, audit, financial reporting or technical accounting.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working within complex reporting environments.
