Job description

Career
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Planner, Financial Adviser or Senior Paraplanner who enjoys identifying better ways of working and influencing positive change.

You may have spent years delivering advice, supporting advisers or improving operational processes and are now looking to apply your expertise in a broader role where you can shape how financial planning is delivered across the business. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge and practical experience while building a career in business transformation, process improvement and change management.

About the role
As a Financial Planning Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting business-led change across our financial planning and wealth management business. Reporting to the Business Transformation Manager, you will act as the bridge between Financial Planners, Advisers, Paraplanners, Operations and Technology teams to ensure change initiatives are practical, effective and deliver positive outcomes for both clients and colleagues.

Drawing on your financial planning experience, you will analyse current processes, identify opportunities for improvement and help design future ways of working. You'll ensure proposed solutions work in the real world and support the delivery of an efficient, scalable and client-focused advice proposition.

Accountabilities
Partner with Financial Planners, Advisers, Paraplanners and Operations teams to understand existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Map and analyse end-to-end financial planning and advice processes.
  • Translate business requirements into clear documentation, process maps, user stories and change impacts.
  • Support the design and implementation of improved operating models, workflows and controls.
  • Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to gather insight and drive practical solutions.
  • Assess the impact of change on colleagues, clients, compliance requirements and business operations.
  • Support business readiness through training, communications and adoption activities.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure solutions are fit for purpose within a regulated financial advice environment.
  • Identify opportunities for greater efficiency, simplification and automation across the financial planning journey.
  • Work closely with change and project teams to provide subject matter expertise and business insight.

Skills and Experience

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have worked as a Financial Planner, Financial Adviser or experienced Paraplanner and are looking for a new challenge away from a client-facing advisory role.

You'll bring:

  • Experience within a UK regulated financial planning, wealth management or IFA environment.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end advice process and associated client outcomes.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Planner, Financial Adviser or Senior Paraplanner.
  • Knowledge of pensions, investments, retirement planning, tax planning, trusts and cashflow modelling.
  • A natural curiosity for improving processes and finding better ways of working.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience contributing to business change, process improvement or system implementations would be advantageous.
  • The confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for delivering positive outcomes for clients and colleagues.
