Job Description:

FP&A Analyst - 6 month FTC

Are you an immediately available qualified Management Accountant with strong FP&A & Excel skills that is looking for an exciting new contract?

Aila is exclusively partnered with a global consumer goods business in St Albans as they look to hire a Qualified Accountant to support them for the next 6 months in a role that is a mixture of month end and FP&A, including business partnering with the Operations Director and supporting the Group FD.

The Role:

This role will support the Group FD and act as a key Controller for a smaller division within a Group of brands. You will support operational control for your business unit, ensuring an effective month end close process, whilst business partnering operations and acting as a key finance business partner to the Operations Director & Managing Director.

This is a Finance role that is both strategic and “hands on” for budgeting, forecasting, modelling and planning for a unique and interesting consumer goods brand in a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management, control, forecasting and reporting of the finances of the business
  • Full P&L responsibility and ownership of the numbers, with support from a GL Accountant
  • Month-end close responsibility, including all necessary accruals, prepayments and reporting
  • Recurring and ad-hoc reporting of commercials, operational and total business performance
  • Costing and yield analysis for an outsourced supplier.
  • Budgeting and forecasting for the business, collating input from stakeholders.
  • Key business partner to Managing Director and business leadership team, providing insight, analysis and required challenge
  • Profitability analysis through both commercial and operational analysis provide insight on how to drive forward profitability.
  • Audit – a key contact for the audit relating to operations & stock.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Very strong Excel skills with modelling/forecasting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ownership of month end closings and reporting
  • An agile personality that will enjoy working on a variety of tasks and projects
  • Experience with SAP and a consumer goods business is preferred
