Job description

The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Planning Assistant (Client Relationship Manager) on behalf of Wealth Matters, a leading independent Financial Planning firm based in Luton (LU1). Working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and client-focused team, you will support the Financial Planners and Paraplanners in delivering an exceptional financial planning service to Wealth Matters clients. The Financial Planning Assistant (internally titled Client Relationship Manager) helps to maintain and develop client relationships, prepare for and arrange meetings for the Financial Planners, and action all tasks arising from these meetings, ensuring high standards and adherence to tight deadlines.

The Opportunity: This role offers exceptional career development opportunities. We are happy to recruit a career Client Relationship Manager, but if you wish to progress, you will receive support to become Diploma qualified. As your skills and experience grow, there are further opportunities to become a Chartered Financial Planner or Financial Adviser.

Salary and Benefits: £30,000-£37,000 (depending on experience and increasing with exams passed) plus bonuses based on individual and company performance, 26.5 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, hybrid working, and ongoing professional development support, including funding for exams to become Diploma and Chartered qualified.

**Responsibilities include:**

  • Supporting Financial Planners in delivering exceptional service.
  • Developing client relationships, arranging meetings, and handling queries.
  • Assisting with pre- and post-meeting preparations, including research, document collation, and completing actions such as fund switches and policy assignments.
  • Processing new business applications and supporting documentation.
  • Administering client contracts across various financial products.
  • Producing management reports and maintaining client information in the back-office system.
  • Supporting general administration and firm development projects.

**Skills and experience required:**

  • At least 12 months of experience in a professional services environment, ideally financial advice/planning (training provided if necessary).
  • Intelligent, ambitious, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn, with a commitment to a career in Financial Planning.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills, trustworthy, tactful, and discreet.
  • Professional appearance, confident communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently, set goals, manage workflow, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong technological and mathematical aptitude.
  • A team player eager to contribute to the firm's success.
