Job summary

SMBC Group in London is seeking an Associate to join the Analytics Team within the Financial Crime Management Group (FCMG). You will support day-to-day operation of transaction monitoring and reporting, acting as a first point of contact for operational queries and issues.

You will produce and reconcile MI and dashboards across multiple data sources. The role offers hybrid working, collaboration across internal teams, and exposure to sanctions, fraud and due diligence processes in a regulated

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and data literacy skills, with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies and discrepancies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, supported by strong Word, PowerPoint and written communication skills.
• Proactive, organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively across multiple systems and teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the operation of a transaction monitoring and reporting solution designed to strengthen financial crime monitoring, sanctions risk management and the wider financial crime control framework.
• Provide day-to-day operating model support, assist with issue resolution, and coordinate between teams under the direction of the Team Lead.
• Act as a first point of contact and provides day‑to‑day support for internal systems, with guidance from the Team Lead.
• Liaise with external vendors to help coordinate licence allocation, system access and issue resolution.
• Work across multiple internal systems and data sources to support analysis, reconciliation and reporting activity.
• Support stakeholders across financial crime teams, helping to coordinate queries, updates and operational activities.
• Assist with recurring and ad hoc reporting, MI and dashboards to support financial crime, transaction monitoring and customer activity review processes.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, contributing to analytical outputs, reporting packs and stakeholder updates.
