Job Description:

We have a great opportunity to join the Finance team at Aviva as a Financial Controls Transformation Manager, leading transformation and change initiatives that support Aviva’s strategic growth. This role is key in maintaining a robust control environment and involves supporting large-scale business-led change within finance. About the role:

You will work on improving the efficiency and sustainability of the control environment, leveraging emerging technologies. This role responds to significant transformation activities within Finance, emphasizing high-quality, sustainable controls.

As a subject matter expert, you will partner with finance stakeholders, generate ideas, challenge processes, and support delivery across the full change lifecycle. Your responsibilities include:

1. Identifying opportunities to improve the control environment through planned change activities.
2. Supporting the design and implementation of controls and their integration into process improvements.
3. Assessing risks associated with change delivery and designing mitigation activities.
4. Challenging and supporting change stages, including testing and business readiness.
5. Contributing to the development of frameworks for risk and control assessment during change.

You will build relationships with finance transformation teams and develop an understanding of impacted processes, systems, and data. As this is a new role, there is an opportunity to shape it to meet evolving business needs. The role reports to the Financial Control Transformation Director and covers all finance areas across Aviva.

Skills and experience:

• Qualified accountant with recent experience in financial control assurance or controls consultancy, focusing on risk and control improvements.
• Good knowledge of the insurance industry and finance processes.
• Experience with new technologies to enhance control environment quality is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining SME concepts to non-experts.
• Strong relationship management skills to achieve objectives through collaboration.
