Overview

As a Financial Controls & Compliance Analyst, your expertise will craft the future of our Finance Controls team. This outstanding opportunity allows you to engage in quality audit (QA) reviews and control testing within our Insurer Broker Accounts (IBA) Department. You'll be pivotal in ensuring governance and regulatory compliance under the guidance of our Finance Controls and Compliance Manager.

Immerse yourself in the development and implementation of robust QA frameworks, conduct detailed process assessments, and perform control testing to guarantee operational efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with diverse compliance departments to align processes with regulatory standards and report key compliance information to senior management. Your role will be instrumental in driving the flawless execution of our financial policies and procedures.

We are seeking a part-qualified accountant experienced in controls testing or audit, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.

How you'll make an impact
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive Quality Assurance frameworks and methodologies across an operational finance department.
  • Conduct detailed reviews and assessments of key departmental processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and policies.
  • Complete control testing to assess design and operational efficiency, identifying any control deficiencies, documenting findings, and supporting remediation efforts.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all financial policies with a focus on the implications and adherence.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of compliance departments across the business to align IBA processes and procedures with relevant sanctions, financial risks, and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Help capture and report important compliance and control information for Finance dashboards, to be shared with collaborators like the COO, CFO, and Senior Management.
  • Nurture positive relationships with collaborators, customers, partners, and team members in IBA and Finance.
  • Align with the Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for the role with specific attention to Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly, and Ethics.
  • Liaise with internal staff to ensure we are operating within AJG policies & procedures, and external regulations on all items.
  • Follow internal policies, laws, rules, regulations, and Gallagher's values, prioritising client-centricity.
  • Ensure your business area aligns with laws, rules, governance, and Gallagher's values.
  • Assist with Internal and external audit requests.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
About you
  • Part-qualified accountant (exams or experience).
  • Prior controls testing and/or audit experience.
  • Experienced candidate with good business knowledge, currently undertaking professional qualifications.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of SOX and regulatory/control-based environments is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage tasks to challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

This is your chance to join a world-class team and make a lasting impact. We believe in encouraging an inclusive and collaborative environment where every team member can thrive. If you're ambitious and ready to contribute to our continued success, we look forward to receiving your application!
