Financial Controller – Lear Corporation, Coventry Technical Centre

About Lear Corporation, Coventry Technical Centre:
Lear Corporation’s Coventry Technical Centre is a key site for managing engineering, design, and development costs for seating and electrical products. The centre works with multiple automotive OEMs, providing innovative solutions and technical expertise.

Role Purpose:
The Financial Controller will partner with the leadership team to manage financial controls, reporting, and forecasting for the Coventry Technical Centre. This role also involves managing a team of six direct reports and supporting their professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Finance and Management teams to support the Technical Centre.
2. Ensure timely and accurate corporate and internal financial reporting.
3. Manage month-end processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
4. Prepare and present profit & loss, cash flow, and balance sheet reports.
5. Oversee key financial KPIs, including Accounts Receivable and Payable.
6. Drive continuous improvement in financial controls and business processes.
7. Conduct SOX testing and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
8. Work with auditors for year-end and interim audits.
9. Develop direct reports and contribute to the succession plan.
10. Handle ad hoc tasks as needed.

Requirements:

1. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
2. Proactive, flexible, and a strong team manager.
3. Excellent Excel and communication skills.
4. Self-motivated with a focus on exceeding internal customer needs.

Qualifications:

1. Qualified Accountant (required).
2. Finance/Business Degree (preferred).
3. Experience with BPCS, AS400, automotive industry, and internal audits is a plus.
