Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting Ltd. seeks a Financial Controller to lead the finance function from the company’s headquarters in St. Austell. You will report to directors and supervise a small finance team, owning all accounting protocols and financial reporting.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or substantial vocational experience, with strong budgeting, forecasting, audits, and a proactive stance on system improvements. You’ll drive CPD and mentor your team in a fast-growing business.

Qualifications

• Qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or senior finance experience.
• Experience leading a finance team and managing management reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and budget controls.
• Experience with audits and liaising with external stakeholders.
• A1 technical experience and commercial judgement described in the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead responsibility for all accounting protocols and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting reporting standards.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes.
• Act as a key contact to external stakeholders and major suppliers.
• Produce and deliver detailed management accounts.
• Oversee monthly payroll.
• Assist with annual audits.
• Lead and develop your own team to meet CPD goals.
