Financial Controller | Fast Growth Sustainability Consultancy

Harmonic is partnering with a rapidly growing Independent Sustainability Consultancy to find a Financial Controller for their Central London office.

The company has a turnover of around £5 million and a team of 50 employees. They plan to invest heavily in finance over the next 1-2 years and expand internationally within 18-24 months.

They are open to candidates seeking a 4-day or 5-day workweek.

(A 4-day week will be on a prorated salary basis.)

This organization is a leader in promoting personal wellbeing, reflected in their work culture and employee care. They seek candidates with strong commercial ambition to join as FC/HoF and grow into a Finance Director role within 2-4 years. The office offers a vibrant environment in central London, especially for those spending time onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic financial insights at board level to support commercial decisions.
• Manage financial systems, policies, and processes for planning, reporting, and analysis.
• Collaborate with client teams and senior management to prepare budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis for non-financial stakeholders.
• Ensure timely and accurate statutory submissions and month-end accounts.
• Contribute financial data to client reporting packs.
• Assist the management team in understanding financial implications for strategic decisions.
• Oversee AP/AR processes to maintain strong cash flow.
• Participate in ad hoc financial projects.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in professional services or SME consultancy environments.
• Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
• Excellent communication and engagement skills.
• Positive attitude and problem-solving approach.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with group agencies and SMEs.
• Knowledge of group principles and audit processes.

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
