Mint Selection Ltd is seeking a Financial Controller for its Grid Infrastructure division in London. The role will lead a four-person finance team across two offices, driving timely financial reporting, robust controls and efficient treasury management.

You will partner with senior leadership and the CFO to support growth and acquisition activity. The position is hybrid, with emphasis on building a best-in-class finance function and strong stakeholder relationships beyond Finance.

Qualifications

• ACA qualified (or equivalent)
• 3+ years post-qualification experience in a commercial environment
• 1-2 years in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role
• Strong technical accounting skills in reporting, controls and compliance

Financial Controller - Grid Infrastructure

We are working with a leading platform in the UK Transmission & Distribution sector, currently undergoing a period of significant growth.

The business is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead its Financial Reporting, Control and Operational Finance functions. Working closely with the CFO, you will play a key role in building a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting the business through its next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead and develop a finance team of four across two offices, setting clear priorities and supporting professional development.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly accounting, management reporting and statutory accounts across all entities, providing meaningful insights to the Board and senior leadership.
• Financial Control & Compliance: Strengthen financial controls, systems and processes to support business growth, ensuring compliance with statutory, tax and audit requirements.
• Treasury & Working Capital: Manage cash flow forecasting, capital drawdowns, accounts payable, receivables and payroll.
• Budgeting & Business Partnering: Own departmental performance reporting against budgets, working closely with business leaders to drive financial discipline and performance improvements.
• Strategic & Operational Support: Drive improvements across the finance function, oversee the corporate risk register alongside Legal, and support acquisitions, new entity formation and wider business growth.

Requirements

• ACA qualified (or equivalent), ideally trained within a Top 20 accountancy firm.
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a commercial environment.
• 1-2 years' experience in a Financial Controller or similar finance leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in financial reporting, controls and compliance.
• Proven team management experience and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders outside Finance.
• Experience in the UK power, energy or infrastructure sectors would be advantageous.
