Job summary

CV Screen is recruiting an office-based Financial Controller in Rochdale for a well-established construction sector business. You will lead day-to-day financial control, reporting and ensure robust internal controls, with a view to progression towards a Finance Director role.

The role offers a salary up to £60,000 plus bonus and benefits, with opportunities to shape processes, develop the team and influence commercial decisions within the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Experience in construction industry, including preparing VAT and CIS returns.
• Strong month-end, forecasting and cash flow skills, with advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Run the month-end and year-end close, producing timely management accounts, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
• Keep a strong control environment, covering reconciliations, journals, accruals, fixed assets and revenue recognition.
• Analyse margin, overheads, working capital and project performance, flagging risks and opportunities.
• Make sure VAT and CIS returns, audit schedules and other statutory submissions are completed accurately and on time.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team while improving systems and reducing manual processes.

CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting an office-based Financial Controller in Rochdale, paying up to £60,000 plus bonus and benefits, on behalf of a well-established business in the construction sector. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will lead the day-to-day financial control and reporting, make sure management information is accurate and commercially useful, and keep controls robust. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step towards a Finance Director role, with real scope to shape processes, develop a team and influence decisions across the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

What Experience is Required

• Qualified or part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience, with at least two years in a Financial Controller or Finance Manager role
• Solid experience within the construction industry, including preparing VAT and CIS returns
• Strong month-end, forecasting and cash flow skills, with advanced Excel

Salary & Benefits
