Financial Controller – Build & Scale Global Finance

Job summary

Isembard is building a finance function from the ground up in London. We are seeking a Financial Controller to shape finance processes, controls and reporting across international entities, under the guidance of the Finance Director.

You will own month-end and year-end close, statutory accounts and group consolidation, and lead audit readiness while building inventory accounting and depreciation processes for manufacturing assets.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Strong audit experience, preferably Big Four.
• Solid IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with financial statements, month-end, audits.
• Excellent Excel skills and high attention to detail.
• Builder mindset and readiness to dive into detail.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Set accounting policies and controls that scale with the business.
• Own statutory accounts and group consolidation across international entities.
• Lead audit preparation and auditor relationships, including move to Big Four audit.
• Build inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP and finished goods including valuation and costing.
• Set processes for capex, fixed assets and depreciation of manufacturing equipment.
• Automate reporting and reconciliations with external advisers on accounting, compliance and tax.
