Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have professional accounting qualifications and experience in an SME environment. This role offers a daily rate of £400 - £450 and requires 5 days on site. Potential for a temporary to permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong financial controls, systems, and policies.
• Partner with senior management to provide commercial insight and support strategic planning.
• Manage year-end audit, statutory accounts, and tax compliance.
• Oversee financial audits and liaise with auditors as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Implement process improvements and drive automation where possible.
• Support funding, investment, and growth initiatives.
• Manage and mentor junior finance staff.

Skills

Professional qualifications in accounting or finance (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
