Premier Foods in the United Kingdom is seeking a Financial Controller - Procurement & Logistics to join the Supply Chain Finance team. The role partners with senior leaders across Procurement, Logistics and Finance to influence decisions and improve financial performance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting, model scenarios, and drive cost controls across raw materials, energy and freight with a focus on delivering tangible savings and value for the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with post-qualification experience.
• Experience in FMCG supply chain finance and procurement or logistics optimisation.
• Advanced financial modelling and capability to turn data into insight.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Procurement and Logistics leaders to provide financial insight and challenge strategic decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting for Supply Chain functions.
• Analyse cost drivers across materials, energy, warehousing and freight with scenarios.
• Develop financial models to support pricing, cost savings and investments.
• Enhance reporting tools to improve visibility of actual vs forecast costs.
• Collaborate with Commercial teams on market trends and pricing opportunities.
• Drive process improvements and automation in financial controls.

Are you a commercially minded finance leader who thrives on influencing strategic decisions and driving business performance? We're looking for a Financial Controller - Procurement & Logistics to join our Supply Chain Finance team. This is a highly visible business partnering role, working directly with senior leaders across Procurement, Logistics and Finance to provide insight, challenge and direction across a significant area of spend including raw materials, energy, warehousing and freight. You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping the business navigate risks and opportunities, improve financial performance and support key decisions that shape the future of our supply chain. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine strategic thinking, commercial insight and financial expertise while making a tangible impact across the business.

What you’ll be doing

• Partnering with the Director of Procurement and Head of Logistics to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-making.
• Leading financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities across Procurement and Logistics.
• Overseeing month-end reporting, providing robust analysis and commentary on key variances and performance drivers.
• Tracking inflationary impacts and identifying key risks and opportunities across the supply chain.
• Supporting critical business decisions through financial modelling, scenario planning and commercial analysis.
• Enhancing freight reporting and analytical tools to improve visibility of actual and forecast cost drivers.
• Working closely with Commercial teams to understand market trends, volume drivers and pricing opportunities.
• Leading Supply Chain inputs into commercial pricing reviews.
• Driving process simplification, automation initiatives and financial control improvements.
• Acting as the Finance lead for identifying, quantifying and tracking savings initiatives across procurement, energy and logistics.
• Partnering with colleagues across Finance to assess topics such as FX exposure, packaging taxes, sustainability and legislative changes.

What we’re looking for

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with strong post-qualification experience.
• Experience within FMCG and a proven track record in supply chain finance, procurement cost control and/or logistics optimisation.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insight.
• Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting, business planning and performance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP.
• A strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate future challenges and identify opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance and operational teams.
