Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment are partnering with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Controller. You will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, lead a small team and work closely with colleagues across operations, manufacturing and supply chain.

The role includes monthly and annual management accounts, year-end support, and financial analysis to drive informed business decisions.

Qualifications

• Senior finance experience in a comparable role such as Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
• Strong management accounting knowledge including month-end reporting and year-end processes.
• Experience leading a small finance team with a collaborative management style.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly and annual management accounts with timely financial reporting and support for year-end accounts.

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a well-established business in the manufacturing sector to recruit a Financial Controller. You'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, lead a small team and work closely with colleagues across operations, manufacturing, supply chain.

The Opportunity:

• Preparing monthly and annual management accounts, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and supporting the year-end accounts process.
• Partnering with operational teams to provide financial analysis, meaningful insight and support for informed business decisions.
• Leading, supporting and developing a small transactional finance team, including purchase ledger and sales ledger.
• Overseeing day-to-day financial activities, maintaining effective financial controls, processes and reporting standards.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, strengthen efficiencies and support wider business performance.

Your work will directly contribute to stronger financial visibility, effective operational decisions and the continued development of the finance function.

About You:

• Experience in a senior finance role, such as Financial Controller, Finance Manager or a comparable position.
• Strong management accounting knowledge, including month-end reporting, year-end processes and financial analysis.
• Experience leading or supervising a small finance team, with a supportive and collaborative management style.
• The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues outside finance and communicate financial information clearly.
• A proactive, organised approach, with the confidence to take ownership while remaining close to the detail.

Experience within manufacturing or another operationally focused environment would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience.
