Job summary

NXTGEN is working with an established Norfolk manufacturer to recruit a hands-on Financial Controller. Take ownership of the accounts and drive improvements as the business makes better use of its ERP investment.

You will work closely with the owners and wider parts of the business to drive continuous improvements and help shape the finance function for the next phase of growth. This role can be full-time or part-time for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on accounting experience in industry or practice.
• Experience preparing year-end accounts and reporting for lenders.
• Proven end-to-end payroll experience.
• Confidence working with ERP systems and improving finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accounts, including year-end preparation and quarterly reporting for lenders.
• Run end-to-end payroll and manage pension requirements.
• Coordinate audit requirements and maintain effective financial controls.
• Support credit control and oversee finance for smaller group entities.
• Make better use of the ERP system to improve reporting and reduce manual processes.
• Provide clear financial information to support decisions across the business.

NXTGEN is working with an established Norfolk manufacturer to recruit a hands-on Financial Controller. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the accounts while helping the business make better use of its recent investment in ERP and improve the way its finance function operates.

As Financial Controller, you ll work closely with the owners of this business and wider parts of the business to drive continuous improvements.

Key responsibilities as Financial Controller

• Take ownership of the accounts, including year-end preparation and quarterly reporting for lenders
• Run end-to-end payroll and manage associated pension requirements
• Coordinate audit requirements and maintain effective financial controls
• Support credit control and oversee finance matters for smaller group entities
• Make better use of the ERP system to improve reporting and reduce manual processes
• Provide clear financial information to support decisions across the business

What we re looking for

• Strong hands-on accounting experience, gained in industry or practice
• Experience preparing year-end accounts and managing reporting requirements
• Proven end-to-end payroll experience
• Confidence working with ERP systems and improving finance processes
• A practical, approachable style and the confidence to work directly with business owners

Experience in manufacturing would be an advantage. The business is more interested in someone who can take ownership, adapt to change and help build a more efficient finance function.

The role can be full-time or part-time arrangements will be considered for the right person.
