Job summary

A Middleton-based company is seeking a Financial Controller to work closely with the Financial Director and oversee the full finance function day-to-day.

Key duties include cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting, board pack preparation, payroll oversight, and ensuring VAT/PAYE compliance. The role leads the finance team and supports monthly close and group consolidations. Hybrid working after probation and 25 days holiday are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a financial controller or similar with end-to-end finance responsibility.
• Strong cashflow, treasury and FX management capabilities.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting and board pack preparation experience.
• Payroll, VAT, PAYE and compliance knowledge required.
• Leadership of the finance team and month-end procedures.
• Experience in group consolidations across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

• Manage cashflow and all banking activities including foreign exchange.
• Deliver budgets and forecasts for senior management.
• Prepare financial board packs for review.
• Oversee payroll across group companies and ensure PAYE/VAT compliance.
• Lead and develop the finance team and oversee month-end procedures.
• Deliver monthly group consolidated accounts for multiple entities.

Salary: GBP65000 - GBP75000 per annum

We are currently supporting an excellent company, based near Middleton who are looking for a Financial Controller to work closely with the Financial Director. This role will be responsible for the following duties and be expected to oversee the full finance function on a day to day basis.

• Managing cashflow, overseeing all banking and treasury activities including foreign exchange.


• Delivering budgets and forecasts for senior management.


• Preparation of financial board pack.


• Overseeing the payroll function for all group companies.


• Ensure PAYE, VAT returns and other financial compliance.


• Handle insurance renewals and energy contracts.


• Working with the senior team strategically and operationally to provide timely and accurate financial information.


• Project margin analysis.


• Leading and developing the finance team.


• Overseeing month end procedures.


• Support the Management Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts pack with analysis for each group company.


• Delivery of monthly group consolidated accounts for multiple entities.
