Position Overview:
The Financial Controller – Onfido will be responsible for the financial accounting and reporting for ten Onfido group companies across eight countries, managing a team of 12. This position will work closely with the other Onfido business leaders, the Corporate HQ, based in Minnesota and will report to the Director of Accounting and Reporting operations.
The position will be based in London and will require the holder to be in the office 3 days of the week.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance for 10 Onfido legal entities:
Prepare monthly management accounts for corporate reporting
Prepare UK statutory annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
Support UK group statutory audit
Prepare annual financial statements for non-UK subsidiaries working with locally based service providers and auditors to ensure preparation is in accordance with appropriate GAAP within local deadlines
Ensure Payroll elements are regularly reviewed and treated correctly. Maintain a monthly P&L reconciliation for payroll.
Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled monthly
Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements (eg UK ONS)
Support internal audits
Billings and Cash Collection:
Ensure that billings are made in a timely manner and in accordance with contract arrangements
Regularly review revenue recognition against Corporate and Statutory requirements to ensure compliance
Provide guidance to Sales Operations team as necessary regarding specialized contract arrangements / amendments
Liaise with VPs on difficult customer collections
Monitor the close-down process, customer switch off and onboarding debt to collection agencies.
Team Leadership and management:
Manage a team of professional colleagues and their teams
Support, mentor and develop the team to enable support for a growing business in a fast-paced industry.
Monitor team performance and ensure that expectations are consistently met or exceeded
Tax:
Work with Corporate tax team and operational colleagues to maximise tax efficiency (eg RDEC)
Own the VAT process
Treasury:
Work with Corporate treasury team to ensure day-to-day cash requirements for paying suppliers and payrolls are met
Systems and Process Oversight:
Support the timely delivery and ongoing accuracy of systems integrations
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Accounting and Finance experience in multinational company
ACCA / ICAEW qualified
Proficient in UK GAAP and familiarity with US GAAP
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required
Adaptable, with strong communication, prioritization and organizational/planning skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple tasks
Self-motivated, team player, and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communications skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization
Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using NetSuite ERP
Experience using Oracle ERP system
