A new opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller / Corporate Accountant to join a growing medium sized private equity firm based in central London.

This is a newly created role, the first hire dedicated to 'in sourcing' their corporate accounting operations. This is a unique opportunity to lay the foundation for key financial processes and play a critical role in developing and strengthening internal controls as the business continues to scale.

This is a broad, hands-on position with exposure to both corporate accounting, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and is excited to help shape the finance function in a high-growth, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Accounting & Administration

• Implement Xero corporate accounting system, managing handover from outsourcers
• Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements for all group entities
• Lead and coordinate the annual audit process.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including intercompany, creditors and debtors.
• Develop and manage the group transfer pricing policy.
• Calculate and process intercompany recharges and management fees.

FP&A

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis and cost reporting to support decision-making

Treasury

• Manage group liquidity and cash forecasting
• Support the development and implementation of hedging strategies with CFO
• Open and maintain bank accounts, ensuring appropriate controls

Fund-Related

• Track and manage carried interest distributions and payments
• Administer staff co-investment programs, including leverage monitoring
• Oversee cash flows for group investment vehicles and employee loan schemes
• Prepare and issue invoices for management fees and recharges

Controls

• Maintain and enhance financial controls to ensure they remain effective as the business scales.
• Enhance and develop management P&L, BS and cashflow reporting.
• Support operational and process improvements

Other

• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants and other professional advisors
• Oversee preparation and submission of VAT and corporate tax filings
• Practice trained qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or overseas equivalent ) with approximately 2/3 years' post-qualification experience
• Ideally an understanding of private equity structures, fund accounting and corporate accounting principals
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience preparing management accounts, statutory financial statements and managing audit processes
• Comfortable working across a range of finance areas
• Growth mindset with the ability to lead the new corporate accounting function as the firm grows
• Comfortable being office based for 3-4 days a week.
