Base pay range

Stanton House are partnering with a privately owned technology business (£11m revenue) in London to recruit an experienced Financial Controller on a 6-month temp-to-perm arrangement.

As the Interim Financial Controlle,r you will bring leadership, structure, and rigor to a lean finance team during a crucial phase of transformation. This role will be pivotal in restoring financial discipline, supporting transaction readiness, and building the foundations for a scalable, private equity-ready finance function.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will assume day-to-day ownership of financial operations and play a critical role in preparing the business for due diligence and future investment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and produce accurate, timely management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Improve core finance processes and internal controls, ensuring readiness for private equity due diligence.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital reporting, and support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Support the CFO in preparing data and analysis for a potential transaction with a mid-market PE Fund.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to the finance team, mentoring junior staff and improving performance.
• Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights that support strategic decisions.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical accounting and SME finance experience is desirable.
• Hands-on and process-driven, with a track record of improving controls and reporting in lean finance teams.
• Previous exposure to private equity, M&A, or due diligence processes is highly desirable.
• Strong communicator with a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, change-oriented environment.
