Job summary

Distinct | B Corp is seeking a qualified accountant to lead financial control processes in their Leicester office. This role involves establishing clarity in reporting and financial integrity while overseeing a junior team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in audit support, technical accounting, and be comfortable in fast-paced environments. The position is hybrid, offering flexibility while ensuring robust financial operations through the end of 2026.

Job description

Location: Leicester (3 days on-site, hybrid) Contract: Until the end of 2026

What you’ll lead and deliver:

• Step into partially defined processes and establish clear ways of working.
• Balance sheet integrity: own reconciliations, controls, and group reporting support.
• Reporting backbone: support consolidations, statutory reporting, and close out audit queries.
• Technical authority: provide guidance on complex areas, including IFRS 16 and related standards.
• Work closely with a junior team
• Assist ERP/process activity, data validation, and alignment across sites.
• Unblock issues quickly to protect timelines and reporting accuracy.
• Confidence in the numbers: rebuild consistency and credibility ahead of year-end.

About you:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Experience in financial control and reporting (including IFRS 16).
• Proven in complex, fast-paced, or multi-site environments—calm under ambiguity.
• Strong on audit support and technical accounting.
• Comfortable getting into the details while providing clear day-to-day leadership.
• Track record supporting ERP or system change (useful)
