Job summary

International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. in Leeds is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the group’s finance operations, deliver accurate month-end and year-end close, and partner with the divisional FD to scale the business with strong controls.

You will own statutory reporting across entities, manage audits, UK GAAP compliance, and develop the team while navigating a hands-on, evolving environment with real headroom for growth.

Qualifications

• ACA (or equivalent) qualification required.
• 5+ years PQE with strong technical grounding.

Responsibilities

• Owning month-end and year-end across the group, accurate and timely.
• Producing statutory accounts for all legal entities and running the audit relationship.
• Keeping everything compliant with UK GAAP and updating policies when needed.
• Overseeing balance sheet controls, reconciliations, provisions and intercompany.
• Managing tax reporting with external advisors.
• Driving better processes, better controls, better systems, the whole lot.
• Leading and developing a small team who'll thrive with clarity and direction.
• Supporting acquisition integration: reporting, controls, accounting treatment, you name it.
• Working closely with FP&A and Treasury so statutory reporting actually reflects reality.
• Providing technical accounting support across finance and operations.

What you'll be doing

• ACA (or equivalent), ideally Big 4 / top ten trained.
• 5+ years PQE with strong technical grounding.
• Deep understanding of UK GAAP, statutory compliance and audit.
• Experience in multi-entity or acquisitive environments.
• Hands-on, pragmatic, organised, detail-driven.
• Strong communicator who can influence without being a pain.
• Comfortable juggling deadlines, priorities and people.
• Bonus points for tax experience and system/consolidation tool knowledge.
