IPS Finance in Wakefield seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead day-to-day finance for an acquisitive group. You will manage a five-person team, delivering timely management accounts and partnering with the FD on budgeting, cash flow and strategic planning.
The role combines financial control, management reporting and system development as the group grows through acquisitions, including the Sage to Sage Intacct transition.
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join an acquisitive group based in Wakefield.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, managing a team of five and providing accurate, commercially focused financial information to the FD and senior management team.
The group is continuing to grow through acquisition, making this a varied role with responsibility for financial control, management reporting, cash flow, budgeting and supporting the integration of acquired businesses.
Key responsibilities include:
The business currently operates on Sage and is moving across to Sage Intacct, so this role will also have an important part to play in the development of the group's finance systems and processes.
We are looking for a qualified or QBE accountant with strong financial control experience. You may currently be a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or similar and will ideally have experience within an SME or group environment.
Most importantly, you will be hands-on, commercially minded and comfortable working closely with senior management. This is not a heavily corporate environment; it is a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and being close to the day-to-day running of a growing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller looking for a genuine No.2 position to an experienced FD, with the opportunity to play a key role in an acquisitive group as it continues to grow.
