Job description

£70,000 to £80,000 + Benefits | Permanent | Hybrid (3 days in the office) | Central London

A high-growth SaaS platform business is looking to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller to join its growing finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ACA-qualified accountant, ideally around 3 years' PQE, who is looking to step into a broad, high-impact role within a technology business that continues to grow.

Reporting directly to an impressive and highly supportive Director of Finance, you'll be given genuine ownership from day one while working alongside someone passionate about developing their team and creating opportunities for people to progress. This is an environment where you'll be trusted, challenged and supported to become a stronger finance leader.

The role is far broader than traditional financial control. You'll take ownership of the month-end close, lead the audit process, oversee key technical accounting areas including revenue recognition, support finance transformation projects and play a key role in strengthening financial reporting and controls as the business continues to scale. You'll also have the opportunity to help shape the future ERP landscape and partner with stakeholders across the wider business.

Responsibilities
  • Own the monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.
  • Lead the year-end audit and become the main contact for external auditors.
  • Take ownership of key accounting areas including revenue recognition, intercompany and statutory reporting.
  • Manage UK VAT, R&D tax claims and statutory compliance.
  • Support ERP and finance systems improvement projects.
  • Prepare board reporting and provide meaningful financial insight.
  • Coach and develop junior members of the finance team.
  • Drive continuous improvements across finance processes, controls and reporting.
About you
  • ACA qualified with around 3 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Trained within a Top 10 accountancy practice.
  • Strong financial reporting, audit and technical accounting background.
  • Experience owning month-end and working closely with auditors.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to take ownership and improve processes.
  • SaaS, technology or listed business experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.

The business is ideally looking for someone who can join within the next few weeks, although they'd absolutely consider the right person on a three-month notice period.

If you're looking for a role where you'll gain exposure, responsibility and the opportunity to work with an outstanding finance leader while helping shape the next stage of a growing SaaS business, this is well worth a conversation.
