Job summary

You will manage the month-end close process, implement financial controls, and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and FCA regulations. The ideal candidate will have ACA or ACCA qualifications, over 3 years of experience, and a solid background in fintech or regulated financial services. A fast-growing, FCA-regulated fintech is seeking a Financial Controller to play a key role in scaling its UK finance function. This is a high-impact position offering ownership of financial reporting, controls, and governance within a dynamic, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Implement and enhance financial controls and governance frameworks
• Design and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures
• Lead and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, FCA regulations, and statutory requirements
• Partner with commercial teams to provide financial insights and performance analysis
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and scalability

Key Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)
• 3+ years post-qualified experience
• Proven experience owning month-end and financial reporting processes
• Strong track record in financial controls and governance
• Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated financial services (preferred)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into commercial insights
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling environment
