Oxford Street Development Corporation (OSDC) seeks an outstanding Financial Controller to design and implement financial systems, controls and governance from the ground up, ensuring strong stewardship of public funds.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead financial management, accounting policy, and reporting for major transactions and funding arrangements, in a hybrid London setting.
Interview date: Interviews are expected to take place during the weeks commencing 16 November 2026 and 23 November 2026
The Oxford Street Development Corporation (OSDC) has been established to deliver the transformation of one of the world's most iconic destinations. As a newly created Mayoral Development Corporation, OSDC is building its organisation from the ground up and is seeking an outstanding Financial Controller to play a key role in that journey. This is not a traditional Financial Controller role. As one of the early members of a newly established organisation, you will help design and implement financial systems, controls, governance frameworks and reporting processes from the ground up, creating the foundations for a high-performing public sector organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead financial management and control across OSDC, ensuring strong governance, accurate reporting and effective stewardship of public funds.
You will be a qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong experience in financial management, reporting and control.
Experience within local government, regeneration, infrastructure or the wider public sector is highly desirable. Candidates should ideally have knowledge of local government finance, the CIPFA/LASAAC Code, public sector governance, government grant funding, capital accounting and treasury management.
As OSDC is a start-up organisation, this is a highly hands-on role. You will be comfortable operating in an environment where not everything is yet established. You will enjoy solving problems, creating new processes and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. No task will be too big or too small.
Once you have submitted an application, your details will be reviewed by a panel. If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to an interview/assessment.
