Job summary

Lloyd Recruitment Services are recruiting for a hands-on Financial Controller to join our client near Coulsdon. You will own day-to-day finances, provide clear financial performance insights to Directors and ensure robust reporting, compliance and governance.

The role requires strong bookkeeping, Xero expertise, Excel proficiency and a proactive, independent work style. AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualifications with prior FC or senior accounting experience are expected.

• Experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior accounting role.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Good communication skills and confidence to interact with Directors.

Financial Controller

Near Coulsdon

Full Time / Monday to Friday

Potential for flexible working hours

Salary range: £38-42,000 (DOE) +benefits package (Pension, PMI, Bonus, 33 days holiday)

We're looking for an experienced, hands‑on Financial Controller to join our client's business, work alongside the Directors and take ownership of day‑to‑day finances.

We are targeting someone who is comfortable with finer details, keeping everything organised and, importantly, able to give a clear picture of how the business is performing financially.

Key areas will include:

• Financial Management and Reporting
• Xero & Bookkeeping / Ledger Management
• Sales Ledger, Invoicing & Credit Control
• VAT , Compliance & Corporate Governance
• Accounts Payable & Receivable

You'll have:

• AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualifications/experience
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Bookkeeper, Management Accountant or similar.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
• Good Excel skills and experience with Xero accounting software
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own priorities.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work directly with directors.
• A practical approach to resolving financial issues.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of what the numbers mean for the wider business.
