Job summary

Pure Resourcing Solutions, based near Cambridge, is recruiting a Financial Controller to join its Virtual Finance Office Accounts team. You will lead client finance operations, providing trusted financial advice and strengthening controls while identifying improvement opportunities. You will also coach junior team members and drive process improvements.

Hybrid working is offered. The role requires ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent and experience with SME client portfolios.

• Experience managing SME client portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop client relationships end-to-end (onboarding delivery).
• Provide proactive financial advice and commercial insight to stakeholders.
• Take commercial ownership of billing, WIP, recoveries, profitability, budgets and resourcing.
• Review/sign off management accounts and reporting with high quality and compliance.
• Coach and develop junior team members and build a high-performing team culture.
• Drive process and tech improvement, improving workflows and controls.
• Identify and manage risk and see issues through to resolution.

Pure Resourcing Solutions are partnering with fast growing purpose-led organisation based on the outskirts of Cambridge to recruit a Financial Controller to join its Virtual Finance Office Accounts team.

This is a client-facing role leading client finance operations, delivering high-quality financial management services, and acting as a trusted advisor—providing insight, strengthening controls, and proactively identifying improvement opportunities. You’ll also support internal team development and help drive exceptional service delivery.

• Own and develop client relationships end-to-end (onboarding delivery), leading meetings, reviews, and proposals
• Provide proactive financial advice and commercial insight to stakeholders
• Take commercial ownership of billing, WIP, recoveries, profitability, budgets and resourcing
• Review/sign off management accounts and reporting, ensuring strong quality and compliance

You will be ACCA or ACA qualified or equivalent and ideally have had experience working in practice and working with and managing a portfolio of SME clients and be able to demonstrate strong delivery.
