With offices across the UK in Ashby, Blackpool, Bristol, and Sittingbourne, and our team of engineers working nationwide, we pride ourselves on delivering impactful solutions to optimise the world's transition to net zero and beyond.

We recognise that the climate emergency is the greatest challenge of our generation, and we're driven both personally and professionally to be a force for positive change.

We deliver a range of integrated energy and sustainability solutions spanning Carbon Impact, Utility Management, and Building Optimisation that help our clients achieve their decarbonisation goals whilst delivering significant returns on investment.

As a certified B Corp, we place purpose before profit, upholding the highest standards of social and environmental performance, diversity, inclusion, and accountability in everything we do.

At Optimised, we know that our people are our greatest asset. That's why we offer a flexible, fun, and supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to perform to their best. We're always looking for individuals who share our values and are passionate about making a positive impact.

About The Role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our growing finance team. Working closely with the CFO, you'll ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and delivery for the Group.

Whether you're an experienced Financial Controller or ready for the next step in your career, we want to hear from you! We are looking for someone who has previous strong accounting experience and is 2 or 3 years post qualification.

We need a strategic thinker who's hands-on when needed, with sharp financial acumen and Excel wizardry.

This role will involve both supporting and developing the finance team, primarily our management accountants, while actively contributing to finance delivery on a day-to-day basis. You will be happy both leading as well as getting stuck in and should have sound basis of financial reporting knowledge and be very comfortable dealing with queries and requests from both internal stakeholders as well external parties including our payroll provider and auditors.

This role holds primary responsibility for maintaining the integrity of our accounting system and overseeing daily finance operations.

You will be responsible for providing accurate financial information delivered in a meaningful way across the business, building partnerships with relevant internal stakeholders across the Group to deliver insight and support with knowledge and understanding in a timely manner.

You'll lead financial reporting and compliance, ensuring accuracy in monthly and annual accounts for both management and statutory purposes. With a keen eye for detail, you'll analyse variances, provide insightful commentary, and prepare the monthly board pack.

A strong leader with emotional intelligence, you'll inspire your team and collaborate effectively across all departments and levels.

We understand that candidates have varying experiences, and it is unlikely that all aspects of the role description will be an exact match. Please don't be deterred if that is the case — we'd love to hear from you if you are passionate about our vision and have relevant experience.

Interested?

If you are interested and think you can help us achieve our mission to net zero we would love to receive your application. If you have any queries regarding the role before applying please contact us at careers@optimised.net

We recognise that talent comes in various forms, and we are committed to providing opportunities that create an environment of growth, diversity, and inclusion for everyone.

If you have a medical condition or an individual need for an adjustment to our process, and you believe this may affect your ability to be at your best - please let us know so we can talk about how we can best support you and make any adjustments that may be needed. In your application, please feel free to note which pronouns you use.
