Job summary

AVIC Cabin Systems (UK) Limited seeks an experienced senior finance professional to lead financial integrity, governance and reporting across the group. You will drive month-end closes, statutory and management accounts, and robust internal controls with a focus on manufacturing cost accounting.

You will manage treasury, lead audits, and mentor finance teams while partnering with operations and procurement to optimise working capital and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and manufacturing finance experience.
• Experience leading audit management and finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Produce management accounts and KPI reporting within group timelines.
• Manage internal and external audits with minimal adjustments.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and automation.
• Oversee treasury, cash flow forecasting, and working capital.
• Lead and develop the Financial Accounting, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger teams.
• Partner with operations, procurement and supply chain on financial controls.
• Support board and group reporting for the Head of Finance.

Job description

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior finance professional responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and governance of all financial reporting. The role ensures robust financial control, delivers statutory and management accounts, and maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

This is not an exhaustive list. The successful candidate will undertake additional duties as required by their manager and the needs of the business.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Produce accurate management accounts within group reporting deadlines, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and key manufacturing KPIs.
• Analyse and explain variances in labour, material, and overhead costs.
• Ensure manufacturing costs are accurately accounted for.
• Prepare statutory consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Manage internal and external audits, minimising adjustments and findings.
• Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, regulatory reporting, and trade compliance requirements.
• Own and improve the financial control environment.
• Implement controls across purchasing, production, inventory, and financial reporting.
• Lead treasury activities and monitor working capital performance, including inventory, payables, and receivables.
• Prepare payment runs, foreign exchange requirements, and support cash forecasting.
• Lead and develop the Financial Accounting, Purchase Ledger, and Sales Ledger functions.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to finance and operational teams.
• Partner with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams on financial control matters.
• Support the Head of Finance with board and group reporting.
• Improve month-end close efficiency and reporting automation.
• Ensure finance processes are standardised, documented, and scalable.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Undertake ad hoc projects and responsibilities as required.

Key Performance Measures

• Financial performance against revenue and margin budgets.
• Delivery of complete and accurate month-end accounts within a 5-day close timetable.
• Accuracy of management accounts and reduction of audit adjustments.
• Achievement of working capital targets and cash flow forecast accuracy.
• Compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory deadlines.
• Effective leadership, performance management, and development of the finance team.

Knowledge, Education and Skills

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and inventory control.
• Strong audit management experience.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations, journals, and financial reporting.
• Experience in treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimisation.
• Strong VAT knowledge, including import/export VAT treatment.
• Advanced ERP systems and Excel skills.
• Knowledge of trade compliance and customs procedures.
• Comfortable operating in strategic and operational environments.
• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong financial control focus.
• Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Information

• Occasional travel between sites may be required.
