Job summary

2i Recruit Ltd. seeks an experienced Finance Controller to lead the finance function across a multi-company manufacturing business. Office based role; you will manage a small team and ensure robust controls, accurate reporting and support growth.

Responsibilities include month-end, management accounts, cash flow, and liaising with auditors and HMRC. Experience in Sage 200 Manufacturing and R&D/Patent Box is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified or equivalent in accounting with strong leadership experience.
• Manufacturing sector background essential and 10+ years in finance leadership.
• Strong reporting and management accounting expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, reporting, forecasting and month-end processes.
• Produce management accounts, board reports and financial analysis.
• Manage cash flow, VAT, year-end accounts and liaise with auditors.
• Oversee ledgers, credit control and reconciliations across multiple companies.
• Prepare R&D tax claims and support Patent Box requirements.
• Lead and develop the finance team and work with operational colleagues.

Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Finance Controller to lead the finance function across a multi-company manufacturing business. Managing a small team, you will ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Office based role
• Lead all accounting, reporting, forecasting and month-end processes
• Produce management accounts, board reports and financial analysis
• Manage cash flow, payroll, VAT returns and year-end accounts
• Liaise with auditors, HMRC and regulatory bodies
• Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, credit control and reconciliations
• Manage multi-currency ledgers, journals and fixed assets
• Prepare R&D tax claims and support Patent Box requirements
• Calculate bonus and commission payments
• Work closely with operational teams and Sage Manufacturing systems
• Lead and develop the finance team

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
• Minimum 10 years' finance leadership experience
• Manufacturing sector background essential
• Strong management accounting and reporting expertise
• Advanced Excel skills; Sage 200 Manufacturing desirable
• Knowledge of R&D tax claims and Patent Box advantageous
