Job summary

Grayson Thermal Systems Corp. is seeking a Financial Controller to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and the control environment. The role leads month-end close, statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while developing a capable finance team.

You will collaborate with operational and commercial leaders, delivering meaningful financial insights to drive strategic decisions and business growth across our multi-site manufacturing operations.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the integrity of the company's financial reporting and control environment. You will oversee month-end close activities, statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes, whilst leading and developing a talented finance team.

You will work closely with operational and commercial leaders, providing meaningful financial insight to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

Key areas of responsibility

• Lead and manage the finance team.
• Drive continuous improvement within finance processes and controls.
• Support the Finance Director with strategic initiatives and business planning.
• Develop a high-performing culture focused on accuracy, accountability and service.
• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close process.
• Review and sign off monthly management accounts.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Produce Board and senior management financial reporting packs.
• Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Lead external audits and statutory year-end reporting.
• Maintain a strong internal control framework.
• Monitor banking covenants and financing obligations.
• Oversee tax compliance activities.

Planning & Commercial Support

• Lead annual budget and forecasting cycles.
• Support investment appraisals and capital expenditure reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational performance.

Health & Safety

• Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
• Report accidents and near misses.

Quality

• A high level of skill to demonstrate right-first-time approach.
• Always striving for continual improvement and development.

Training

• Training will be given on all internal software systems in operation presently to ensure you are capable of reaching the required level of competency.

Experience/Knowledge

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced ERP and Excel skills.
• Manufacturing, engineering or industrial sector experience.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
