Job summary

Artemis Human Capital partners with a well-established organisation in Ballymena to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for the senior finance team. You will own financial reporting, controls and day-to-day finance operations while supporting growth and strategic decision-making.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will oversee the finance function, deliver timely financial management, lead budgeting/forecasting and cash-flow reporting, and develop the team.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent experience is needed.
• Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting and reporting.
• Experience in a Financial Controller or senior accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance function and team.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting.
• Oversee financial controls, processes and reconciliations.
• Support year-end accounts and external audit processes.

A well-established and growing organisation based in Ballymena is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of the organisation’s financial reporting, controls and day-to-day finance operations, while playing a key role in supporting business growth and strategic decision-making.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the finance function and ensuring accurate, timely and effective financial management across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the day-to-day finance function.
• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting.
• Overseeing financial controls, processes and reconciliations.
• Supporting year-end accounts and the external audit process.
• Monitoring financial performance and providing meaningful commercial insight to senior management.
• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial, tax and statutory requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and controls.
• Supporting senior management with financial analysis and business planning.
• Leading and developing members of the finance team.

About You

• A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or significant relevant experience.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior accounting position.
• Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of financial accuracy.
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience of improving processes and strengthening financial controls.
• Strong IT and accounting systems experience, including advanced Excel skills.
• The confidence and ability to work effectively with senior management.
