Job description

Perfect role for a mid professional looking to grow their Financial Services career in Leeds.

Financial Services firms are under more pressure than ever to turn numbers into decisions fast. This particular business is a growing start-up building its finance function from the ground up, and it needs a Financial Analyst who can bring structure without slowing anything down. It's the kind of environment where your analysis gets read by the founders the same week you produce it, not filed away for a quarterly review.

Here's what you'll be doing:
  • Build and maintain financial models that support pricing, forecasting and investment decisions
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis for the leadership team
  • Track cash flow closely and flag risks before they become problems
  • Support budgeting cycles and help departments understand their own numbers
  • Analyse performance data across the business and turn it into commentary people actually use
  • Work directly with the founders on ad hoc financial projects as the company scales
Here are the skills you'll need:
  • 2-4 years' experience in a Financial Analyst or similar role, ideally within Financial Services
  • Strong Excel skills; comfort with financial modelling is essential
  • A part-qualified or newly qualified accountancy background (ACCA, CIMA or similar) is a plus
  • Sharp attention to detail. Numbers need to be right the first time
  • Confidence presenting findings to non-finance stakeholders
  • A genuine interest in working somewhere that changes shape every few months
Key perks and benefits:
  • £36,000 to £45,500, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working, based in Leeds
  • Equity in the business, not just a salary
  • Flexible hours and a genuinely remote-friendly culture
  • A learning and development budget you're expected to actually use
Why pursue a career in Financial Services?

Financial Services keeps rewarding people who can turn detail into decisions, and that's not changing anytime soon. Leeds has become one of the UK's strongest hubs for the sector outside London, with a density of employers that makes it easy to build a long career without relocating. Start in a Financial Analyst seat like this one and the next few steps, senior analyst, finance manager, FP&A lead, tend to follow quickly for people who do the job well.
