Role Purpose:

Capital Dynamics is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in our London office.

The Financial Accountant will work on all management and financial accounting activities.

This will involve the preparation of the monthly management reporting and the year-end statutory reporting, which will include liaising with the auditors and other teams within Finance and the organisation (locally and in our global offices), including Treasury, Legal, and Operations.

The successful candidate will also collaborate in developing and documenting scalable finance processes and controls, driving efficiencies within the finance team, and reducing reporting timelines.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Control and ensure the integrity of designated entities by maintaining and reviewing the accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness of data, including bank reconciliations, and safeguarding the assets of the company.
• Take ownership of the balance sheet and P&L for individual entities, ensuring that all balances are understood and supported
• Prepare and review monthly reconciliation files for all balance sheet amounts to supporting documentation, flagging any actual or potential risks, errors, and opportunities to senior management.
• Prepare the monthly IFRS management reporting for selected entities in the group
• Lead the reconciliation of intercompany positions and investigate differences where necessary.
• Manage and prepare all statutory financial statements, ensuring that all submissions are on time, accurate, and compliant.
• Liaise with the auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and completion of audits within the applicable timeframes.
• Liaise with tax accountants to ensure completion of corporation tax calculations, support the preparation of VAT returns, and other tax submissions.
• Ensure and monitor compliance with the regulatory capital requirements for the various jurisdictions. Support regulatory reporting initiatives as required.
• Support the alignment of inherited processes and controls with current operations and take a proactive role in questioning processes with a view to continuous improvement.
• Support the Head of Financial Control in the maintenance and improvement of the financial control environment across all accounting functions.
• Support other business, financial control, and reporting initiatives as required.
• Solid and thorough accounting knowledge of IFRS, (US GAAP and UK GAAP beneficial).
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory compliance framework for the asset management industry (e.g., AIFMD, FATCA).
• Understanding of controls, with an ability to critically evaluate them within a smaller organization.
• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance multiple deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy, quality, and integrity.
• The ability to simplify complex issues for non-finance people.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent.
• Recently qualified - ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent.
• Must have trained at a top-10 Accounting firm (ideally with a focus on investment management / private equity).
• Experience working on NetSuite ERP is ESSENTIAL.
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years’ relevant experience, ideally working in a financial services organization – i.e., Private Equity, Venture Capital, Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Investment Bank, or a professional accounting firm.
• Experience supporting the preparation or review of regulatory returns would be advantageous.
