Job Description

Financial Accountant | Innovative Retail and E-Commerce Brand | London (Hybrid)

Harmonic is delighted to be partnering exclusively with one of the UK’s most exciting retail and e-commerce brands to hire a Financial Accountant to support their growing finance function.

Our client is a fast-growing, design-led brand with over 15 high-performing retail stores and a strong presence across e-commerce and wholesale channels. With products stocked in iconic retailers like Harrods and Selfridges, and plans to open 3 new stores in the next 6 months, the business is scaling rapidly, with turnover expected to grow from £9 million to over £15+ million.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a collaborative team. You’ll work closely with the Head of Finance and transactional finance team to maintain robust financial processes, ensure accurate reconciliations, and support month-end and reporting activities. The role offers exposure to all core finance operations in a thriving retail environment, with great potential for career development.

The Role:

  • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end close tasks.
  • Support overseeing and managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Assist with stock and inventory accounting, including reconciliation of stock balances across retail and e-commerce channels.
  • Support the Head of Finance / Management Accountant with preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
  • Ensure the integrity of transactional data and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Assist with VAT returns, supplier payment runs, and credit control as needed.
  • Help drive improvements to financial systems and transactional processes to support scale.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors and suppliers to support audit and compliance activities.

What We’re Looking For (essential):

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAS, or Chartered Accountant) or finalist level.
  • Solid experience in transactional finance (AP, AR) and general accounting.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in retail, e-commerce, or other product-based businesses.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Exposure to stock accounting or multi-site businesses.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £50,000–£65,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office).
  • Beautifully designed central London office and a collaborative culture.
  • Excellent opportunity to develop within a high-growth brand.

If you're looking to grow your finance career in an ambitious and creative company, this could be the ideal next step.
