Job description

Financial Accountant (Part Qualified), Crawley

This role provides Finance Business Partner support to the Director of Group Risk Management and team.

Responsibilities

1. Oversight of the financial accounting process for the Group Risk team, with occasional processing of journal entries.
2. Completion and submission of monthly management accounts packs in accordance with Group deadlines.
3. Forecasting of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
4. Annual budget preparation for P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
5. Timely completion of the balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Ownership of total Group Insurance charges and associated country charges, coordinating activities related to the recharge of Group Risk charges across business units.
7. Liaison with the US risk team to ensure alignment with Group Risk processes.
8. Main point of contact for Actuaries, responsible for provisions balances and accounting.
9. Lead financial discussions with insurers and brokers regarding premiums, charges, and related financial information.
10. Provide insightful business partner support to assess the financial implications of changes in insurance cover.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant.
• Ability to deliver results.
• Strong written skills for producing coherent, accurate, and articulate documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Group and Business finance teams.
• Experience in the Insurance Industry.
