Job summary

Sewell Wallis Ltd in Sheffield is partnering with a large South Yorkshire manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Accountant. You will support day-to-day transactional and management accounting, and assist with all aspects of financial reporting.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and IFRS-compliant reporting, while driving process improvements and supporting budgeting and VAT returns.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (will consider PQE).
• Experience within a group structured entity.
• Significant demonstrable financial accounting experience.
• Adherence to IFRS accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Regular reviews and reporting of AR & AP ledger balances.
• Assist with full month end close process, including management accounts, inventory valuations, balance sheet reconciliations and all other reporting, ensuring completion within strict group reporting deadlines.
• Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the accounting ledgers.
• Regularly review finance systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
• Assist with preparation and reporting of budgets & forecasts.
• HMRC Reporting, including submission of VAT reporting.
• Support with various internal and external audit requirements.
• Support delivery of departmental business plan.
• Provide adequate cover to the Financial Controller as necessary.
