Job summary

Sewell Wallis are partnering with a growing business in Barnsley looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. You will report to the Financial Controller and develop skills across month-end reporting, analysis and wider finance functions.

The role offers study support and exposure to budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting, with opportunities to progress and take on wider responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within finance.
• Studying towards AAT or equivalent qualification.
• Strong IT skills with Excel and accounting systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce management accounts alongside the Management Accountant.
• Collaborate with site teams and operational managers for reporting data.
• Present figures in monthly meetings, comparing performance to budget.
• Deliver high-quality regular reporting, analysis, forecasts and budgets.
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts regularly.
• Prepare cost and project analysis with project teams.
• Post centrally controlled costs (e.g., fuel, recharges, travel).
• Raise Sales Invoices promptly.
• Support data for annual statutory audit.
• Drive continuous improvement through finance processes.
• Meet group reporting deadlines and intra-group dates.
