Job summary

ACCA Careers is assisting a major North West organisation in recruiting a Financial Accountant (Assets). The role focuses on managing fixed asset registers, depreciation and capital accounting, while supporting statutory year-end activities.

You will collaborate with the Group Financial Accountant to prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting, advising on accounting policies, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across finance functions.

Qualifications

• Experience in large and complex organisations, with fixed asset knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of financial and statutory accounting processes.
• Experience preparing financial statements and delivering financial analysis.
• Experience managing fixed assets and capital accounting activities.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Track record of improving processes and implementing change.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals, depreciation and capital accounting.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and statutory accounts.
• Lead year-end accounting processes relating to capital activities and fixed assets.
• Prepare and analyse financial information, reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide advice and guidance across finance functions on accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors and external advisers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, helping to develop efficient and effective financial processes.
• Contribute to robust reporting, governance and risk management frameworks.
• Assist in delivering value-for-money initiatives and operational efficiencies.
