Job summary

hireful is seeking a qualified or finalist accountant to lead fixed asset accounting for property and asset registers within a large, complex organisation. The role reports to the Group Financial Accountant and focuses on fixed asset control, capital accounting, and year-end statutory reporting.

The position is hybrid, based at the Liverpool City Centre HQ with onboarding in the office; salary is circa £46,000.

Qualifications

• Qualified or finalist accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
• Solid fixed asset accounting experience in a complex organisation (housing, property, or joint venture experience advantageous).
• Strong analytical abilities and stakeholder management; proactive, continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for property and asset registers including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, component accounting and grant funding.
• Prepare statutory accounts and disclosures for subsidiaries and joint ventures with robust balance sheet reconciliations.
• Deliver financial reporting for regulatory bodies (including Homes England) and advise on capital investment activities.
• Enhance financial systems, controls and processes to drive value for money and service excellence.

Are you a commercial, qualified or finalist accountant with strong expertise in fixed asset accounting?

Come and lead on the management and financial reporting of the property and fixed asset portfolios across a large, complex organisation.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Accountant, you will drive fixed asset control, oversee capital accounting, and play a pivotal role in Group year-end financial statements, statutory accounts, and joint venture reporting.

This is a hybrid role working 2 days per week at the Liverpool City Centre HQ (please note: you will be in the office more than this for onboarding/training) and pays a salary circa £46,000

What you'll be doing:

• Fixed Asset Leadership: Lead accounting for property and asset registers, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, component accounting, and grant funding.
• Financial Reporting & Control: Prepare statutory accounts and disclosures for subsidiaries and joint ventures while maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations.
• Regulatory & Strategic Insight: Deliver financial reporting for regulatory bodies (including Homes England) and provide advice on capital investment activities.
• Process Improvement: Enhance financial systems, controls, and processes to drive value for money and service excellence.

What you need:
