Job summary

Hartford Care Limited is seeking a Financial Accountant to support accurate group financial reporting. You will deliver month-end accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting support across all group entities, reporting to the Group Financial Controller.

The role involves intercompany accounting, fixed assets, VAT/compliance, and close-timetable adherence, with collaboration across Transactions, Payroll, FP&A, and operations.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACA/ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, actively progressing towards full qualification.
• Clear, well-supported working papers and the ability to hit demanding month-end and statutory deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, VAT and statutory accounts.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions within the Group close timetable.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and clearing aged or unsupported balances.
• Supporting the Group consolidation, including intercompany accounting, recharges and resolving differences.
• Maintaining fixed-asset accounting, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Preparing statutory accounts schedules and audit evidence, and responding to audit queries.
• Supporting quarterly VAT returns and other tax compliance.
• Applying Group accounting policies consistently and escalating technical issues to the Group Financial Controller.
• Working with Transactions, Payroll, FP&A and operational teams to find and fix the root causes of data and reconciliation issues.

• Intermediate Excel and strong experience of finance or ERP systems
