Job summary

JoJo Maman Bébé in London is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll maintain strong financial control, balance sheet accuracy and statutory compliance while supporting month-end close.

The role covers reconciliations, fixed assets, quarterly royalty reports, year-end audit support and helping implement Sage Intacct. You’ll collaborate with Commercial Finance to improve processes and ensure consistency across the P&L and balance sheet.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant or equivalent.
• Strong accounting principles and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience in financial accounting, reconciliations or audit.
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical problem solving.
• Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and support month-end close.
• Apply accounting standards and ensure proper transaction treatment.
• Prepare quarterly royalty reports and statutory ONS returns.
• Support year-end audit and prepare statutory accounts.
• Assist with delivering Sage Intacct implementation.
• Enhance financial controls and look for process improvements.

It's a technical accounting role with genuine variety — from reconciliations and audit support to helping us find smarter, more efficient ways of working.

A peek into your daily adventures:

• Prepare and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances
• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and support month-end close
• Apply accounting standards correctly and ensure transactions are treated appropriately
• Prepare and submit quarterly royalty reports and statutory ONS returns
• Support our year-end audit and help prepare statutory accounts
• Get involved in delivering and embedding Sage Intacct, our new finance system
• Strengthen financial controls and spot opportunities to improve processes — including using AI tools like Claude to work smarter
• Partner with Commercial Finance to keep our P&L and balance sheet singing from the same sheet

Skills that make you shine:

Essential

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or equivalent
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Proven experience in financial accounting, reconciliation or audit
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, investigative approach to problem‑solving
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
• Confident Excel skills and comfortable working with financial systems

Desirable

• Experience within a retail, e‑commerce or multi‑site business
• Experience with Sage Intacct or a similar finance system
• Previous experience preparing statutory accounts or supporting external audit
• An interest in using technology and AI tools to improve finance processes
