Job summary

Sellick Partnership is pleased to be working with an Acute NHS Trust in the Southwest, seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team on a 6-month contract.

The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week on site, with daily rate of 250-300 and potential extension based on performance. You will lead statutory NHS accounts, cash management, charitable funds, and financial systems controls.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified with NHS financial accounting experience.
• Experience in statutory NHS accounts and returns.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, preparation and completion of statutory NHS accounts and returns.
• Oversee the achievement of key financial accounting and cash-related targets.
• Lead the management of the Trust's charitable funds.
• Provide strategic oversight of the Trust's cash management function.
• Manage Trust purchase cards and treasury management arrangements.
• Ensure effective financial systems are in place to support strong financial control.
• Lead and performance-manage the financial accounting, charitable funds, cash management and financial systems teams.
• Coordinate the preparation of plans, monitoring returns and submissions to the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England.

Financial Accountant (8a/8b)

Rate: 250 - 300 per day

Sellick Partnership is pleased to be working with an Acute NHS Trust based in the Southwest, who are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to cover a role within their team. This will be an initial 6-month contract with the potential to extend.

This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days per week on site in the Southwest.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will include:

• Lead the planning, preparation and completion of statutory NHS accounts and returns
• Oversee the achievement of key financial accounting and cash-related targets
• Lead the management of the Trust's charitable funds
• Provide strategic oversight of the Trust's cash management function
• Manage Trust purchase cards and treasury management arrangements
• Ensure effective financial systems are in place to support strong financial control
• Lead and performance-manage the financial accounting, charitable funds, cash management and financial systems teams
• Coordinate the preparation of plans, monitoring returns and submissions to the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England
• Act as the Trust's point of contact for insurance, VAT and banking arrangements

Required experience/qualifications:

• CCAB qualified
• NHS financial accounting experience
