Job summary

Sellick Partnership is assisting an Acute NHS Trust in the Southwest with the Financial Accountant (8a/8b) role. You will lead statutory NHS accounts, cash management, charitable funds and financial systems, with an initial six‑month contract and potential extension.

This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week on site. CCAB qualification and NHS financial accounting experience are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, preparation and completion of statutory NHS accounts and returns
• Oversee the achievement of key financial accounting and cash-related targets
• Lead the management of the Trust's charitable funds
• Provide strategic oversight of the Trust's cash management function
• Manage Trust purchase cards and treasury management arrangements
• Ensure effective financial systems are in place to support strong financial control
• Lead and performance-manage the financial accounting, charitable funds, cash management and financial systems teams
• Coordinate the preparation of plans, monitoring returns and submissions to the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England
• Act as the Trust's point of contact for insurance, VAT and banking arrangements

Financial Accountant (8a/8b)

Rate: £250 - £300 per day

Location: Southwest - hybrid working - minimum 3 days per week on site

Contract: 6 months +

Sellick Partnership is pleased to be working with an Acute NHS Trust based in the Southwest, who are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to cover a role within their team. This will be an initial 6-month contract with the potential to extend.
