Alphacomm custom designs, manufactures and distributes wireless accessories to over 18,000 points of distribution, primarily in the Prepaid wireless market in North America. Alphacomm leads the wireless industry in the number of carrier brands managed and is the first to market carrier-licensed accessory portfolios for over fifty devices launched annually. In-house brands, Quikcell and BosBos, are leading brands designed and manufactured by Alphacomm for the Prepaid channel.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, helping to support the Head of Financial Control across multiple subsidiaries ensuring reporting requirements, balance sheet reconciliations and audit are being met on a timely basis.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Post and reconcile monthly journals and maintain, track adjustments during the month end.
2. Provide support during audit – involves liaising with auditors, preparing papers for the audit, cleaning up accounts.
3. Interface with AP, AR team, in terms of postings and smooth out errors, recons etc.
4. Understand forecasts, budgets and analyze the variances with actuals.
5. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure that the accounting records for fixed assets, general accruals and prepayments are properly reconciled.
6. Prepare the month end and daily bank reconciliations.
7. Analyze the P&L variances at month end and provide explanations.
8. Analyze costs such as logistics costs, admin costs etc.
9. Understanding of how intercompany works would be useful.
10. Cash flow management by ensuring payments are processed on a timely basis and preparation of cash flow forecast.
11. Work with AP team to generate weekly payment proposals to be reviewed with the CFO and CEO.
12. Collaborate with the web team to reconcile the web bank accounts.
13. Post and analyze commercial journals, scrappage, royalty etc.
14. Understanding of inventory would be an added benefit.

Assisting in consolidation and assisting the Head of Financial Control on ad-hoc projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Part Qualified professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
2. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
3. IT literate, with strong Excel skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
5. Flexibility to work to tight and unexpected deadlines.
6. Organisation and prioritisation essential to ensure key deliverables and deadlines are met.
7. Accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Ability to be proactive in order to improve processes.
9. Passionate and enthusiastic team player.
